For tips to find notes on a specific verse, see guidance under our page: New Testament Commentaries.
Please note that in the commentaries you can read the ESV text for every verse by hovering your cursor over the verse reference, or clicking on it to open the ESV online at that place. If you do that, you can then also select a different version of the Bible from a wide selection. In the commentary by John Miller he used the English Revised Version (RV), which was undoubtedly the most accurate version available at that time, but which is not one of the older versions available in the selection. It will be noticed that the ESV, while modernizing the English, follows the RV closely, and a comparison between the two versions often leads to a productive Bible study.
